Israeli Authorities Issue Demolition Notices for Structures Southeast of Jerusalem

Jerusalem: The Israeli occupation authorities have issued demolition notices for both residential and agricultural structures southeast of occupied Jerusalem. These notices were announced on Sunday and affect more than 10 structures near the Arab al-Jahalin Bedouin community.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the Jerusalem Governorate reported that there has been a significant escalation in demolition and bulldozing activities by the occupation authorities against Palestinians in the city during November 2025. A total of 27 demolitions and bulldozing operations were recorded, including five instances where residents were compelled to dismantle their own homes and facilities under threat of heavy fines. Additionally, 21 demolitions were executed by the occupation municipality's machinery and forces, along with one bulldozing operation targeting a plot of land.

The Governorate further disclosed that in the same month, 45 notices were issued, including 43 demolition orders, one notice ordering forced removal, and the seizure of 77.608 dunums of land in the eastern part of the town of al-Issawiya. These notices were primarily concentrated in areas such as al-Walaja, the Old City, Wadi al-Hummus, al-Issawiya, and az-Za'ayyem. This reflects ongoing efforts by the occupation to tighten its control over Jerusalem neighborhoods and reshape the city's surroundings and contact zones.
