Israeli Authorities Ban Jerusalemite from Al-Aqsa Mosque

Jerusalem: Israeli occupation authorities issued a decision on Monday banning a Palestinian citizen from Jerusalem, Sohaib al-Awar, from entering the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound. The deportation order, which was handed to al-Awar, a released prisoner from the town of Silwan, bars him from Al-Aqsa for one week, subject to renewal.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the Jerusalem Governorate has reported that during January, the occupation issued 100 forced deportation orders, with 95 specifically targeting Al-Aqsa Mosque. The actual number of banning orders may exceed documented figures due to the authorities' imposition of strict restrictions on those banned. These restrictions include threats to renew bans if individuals speak publicly about their circumstances, complicating accurate counting and documentation.

Furthermore, it has been observed that occupation authorities have used WhatsApp text messages to notify individuals of their banning decisions, adding another layer of complexity to the situation.
