Bethlehem: Israeli occupation authorities have issued a notification to seize lands in Bethlehem in preparation for constructing a colonial road. The announcement was made on Tuesday as part of ongoing developments in the region.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Hassan Breijia, director of the International Law Department at the Settlement and Wall Resistance Commission, stated that the notification aims to facilitate the construction of a road connecting the colonial outpost of Giv'at Eitam with the Tekoa settlement. This development will occur at the expense of Palestinian-owned lands in the area.
Breijia elaborated that the action is a component of the A2 project. The completion of this project is expected to isolate the city of Bethlehem from its southern countryside and the broader southern West Bank region. He also described it as part of a larger systematic Israeli policy focused on structural isolation, which aims to depopulate certain areas of their native inhabitants.
