Beirut: Israeli warplanes launched a series of airstrikes late Friday night and early Saturday, targeting towns and villages in southern Lebanon and the Western Bekaa Valley, causing widespread damage. The Lebanese National News Agency reported significant destruction, with Israeli fighter jets striking the towns of Shaqra, Kfar, Majdal Selm, Qounine, and Ainata at dawn, leading to the destruction of several homes. Artillery shelling was reported in the hills of Naqoura and the Bayada neighborhood.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, additional airstrikes occurred in the town of Majdal Selm in the Marjeyoun district, accompanied by heavy artillery shelling on the town and its surroundings, as well as the town of Qabrikha. The town of Khiam was also subjected to direct artillery fire.
More than 70 rockets were reportedly fired toward the town of Taybeh and its surroundings, coinciding with an attempted advance by Israeli forces toward the Litani River, amid helicopter overflights near the towns of Markaba and Rabaa Thalathin.
Israeli forces also targeted several towns and areas in the Western Bekaa Valley. Two intense raids struck the town of Labaya, alongside additional strikes on the outskirts of the town of Yahmar and the area between Sahmar and Yahmar.
The toll of those killed and injured in the Israeli aggression on Lebanon since March 2 has reached 1,142 and 3,315, respectively, the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health reported in its daily briefing from the Emergency Operations Center.
