Israeli Airstrikes Cause Civilian Casualties in Gaza

Gaza: Several civilians were killed and others were injured by Israeli airstrikes targeting multiple areas across the Gaza Strip. According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, medical sources reported that five civilians, including two children, were killed after an Israeli drone strike targeted tents sheltering displaced persons in the Al-Mawasi area of Khan Yunis. Additionally, a young girl succumbed to injuries she sustained in a previous Israeli strike on Khan Yunis city. In Rafah, four civilians were killed and 70 others were wounded by Israeli gunfire near an aid distribution center west of the city. In central Gaza, one civilian was killed and others were injured by Israeli forces near another aid distribution site along what is referred to as the 'Netzarim Corridor.' Israeli forces also destroyed homes and structures belonging to residents in Jabalia, in the northern part of the Strip, and in eastern Gaza City. UNRWA Communications Director Juliette Touma expressed concerns about the current aid distribution model in the Gaza Strip, stating, "It's as if you're inviting people to their own death." The death toll from the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, has risen to 54,772, with at least 125,834 others injured.
