Khan younis: An Israeli airstrike on Monday evening resulted in the death of a Palestinian near the Bani Suheila roundabout, east of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip, according to medical sources. The airstrike, carried out by an Israeli combat drone, also injured another individual in the vicinity.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency, since October 7, 2023, Israel has been conducting a military campaign in the Gaza Strip, which has led to the death of 72,769 Palestinians, predominantly women and children, and injuries to 172,704 others. This aggression has caused the destruction of 90% of the region's infrastructure, with the reconstruction cost estimated at $70 billion.
Following the Gaza ceasefire agreement on October 11, 2025, the violence has persisted, with Israeli forces responsible for the deaths of 877 Palestinians and injuries to 2,602 others. During the same period, the remains of 776 Palestinians have been retrieved.
In the past day alone, six bodies have been brought to Gaza hospitals, accompanied by 40 injured individuals. In addition, there are at least 10,000 people currently missing, believed to be buried under the debris of their homes across the region.
The ongoing conflict has led to the displacement of almost two million residents from the Gaza Strip. Most of these displaced persons have been forced into Rafah, a crowded southern city near the Egyptian border. This movement has marked the largest displacement of Palestinians since the 1948 Nakba.
