Israeli Airstrike in Jabalia Results in Five Palestinian Deaths

Jabalia: An Israeli airstrike on Thursday resulted in the deaths of five Palestinians to the west of Jabalia in the northern Gaza Strip. An Israeli fighter jet targeted a house near the an-Nazleh roundabout, claiming the lives of five civilians, including two minors and two women.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Israeli artillery also shelled Abasan al-Kabira town, located east of Khan Younes in the southern Strip. Earlier in the day, additional Israeli airstrikes targeted a house in the Shuja'iyya neighborhood, east of Gaza City, and a shelter in the al-Zeitoun neighborhood, south of Gaza City. These strikes led to four fatalities and several casualties.

Despite Qatar's announcement of a three-phase ceasefire agreement in the Strip, which is expected to take effect on Sunday, Israel has continued its offensive. In the last 24 hours alone, eight attacks against the civilian population in the Strip have been reported, resulting in 81 deaths and 188 injuries.

The ongoing conflict, which began on October 7, has seen Israel conducting an extensive military campaign in Gaza. This has led to the deaths of at least 46,788 Palestinians and injuries to 110,453 others. Moreover, around 10,000 individuals are unaccounted for, presumed dead under the rubble of destroyed homes.

International and Palestinian organizations report that the majority of those affected are women and children. The conflict has also forced the displacement of nearly two million people across Gaza, with many seeking refuge in the crowded southern city of Rafah, near the Egyptian border. This displacement marks the largest mass exodus since the 1948 Nakba.
