GAZA CITY: A Palestinian citizen was killed and several others were injured when Israeli airstrikes targeted a group of civilians in the Friday Market in the Shuja'iyya neighborhood east of Gaza City. According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the Palestinian death toll from the Israeli onslaught since October 2023 has risen to 52,862 fatalities, with an additional 119,648 individuals sustaining injuries. The majority of the victims are women and children. The death toll since Israel's resumption of the offensive on March 18, after a two-month truce, has climbed to 2,749, with nearly 7,607 reported wounded. Emergency services face ongoing challenges as they are unable to reach many casualties and dead bodies trapped under the rubble or scattered on roads across the enclave. Israeli occupation forces continue to target ambulance and civil defense crews, according to the health authorities.
