Gaza: An Israeli airstrike on Thursday resulted in injuries to several civilians, including a child, with one individual in critical condition in Gaza and Khan Younes.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the strike involved an Israeli combat drone targeting the vicinity of al-Qubba Mosque in al-Masawi, located west of Khan Younes. The attack left a civilian critically injured and a child with lighter injuries.
Meanwhile, Israeli forces also opened fire at an apartment on al-Wihda Street, while additional strikes were reported at the Al-Shati refugee camp, particularly near Ghaban coffeeshop, leading to multiple casualties. The renewed aggression follows Israel's unilateral decision to end the Gaza ceasefire agreement on March 18, resulting in a series of airstrikes that have claimed the lives of 13,357 Palestinians and injured 56,897 others.
In the past 24 hours alone, Gaza hospitals have admitted the bodies of 77 slain Palestinians and treated 222 casualties. Since the onset of the military onslaught in October 2023, Israel has killed 66,225 Palestinians, predominantly women and children, and injured 168,938 others. Additionally, at least 10,000 individuals remain unaccounted for, feared dead beneath the rubble of their homes.
The ongoing Israeli aggression has led to the displacement of nearly two million people across the Gaza Strip. Most have been forced into the densely populated southern city of Rafah near the Egyptian border, marking the largest mass exodus in Palestine since the 1948 Nakba.
