Israeli Airstrike in Gaza City Claims Lives of Father and Son

Gaza City: An Israeli airstrike in the al-Jurn area, north of Gaza City, on Friday evening resulted in the deaths of two Palestinians, a father and his son.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, an Israeli fighter jet targeted a house in the area, leading to the tragic loss of life.

Meanwhile, Palestinian Civil Defense crews recovered the bodies of three individuals, all identified as members of the Alloush family, from the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood. These fatalities were among 30 civilians who died due to the bombing of a house belonging to the Alloush family in the vicinity of Sheikh Radwan Pool, north of Gaza City. Most of the victims were children and women.

This tragic event occurred following the announcement of a ceasefire agreement set to take effect on Sunday. Despite this, Israel has continued its military actions in the Gaza Strip, disregarding a legally binding decision by the International Court of Justice (ICJ) to halt its offensive in Rafah, potentially violating its obligations under the Genocide Convention.

Since October 7, Israel's military campaign in Gaza has resulted in the deaths of at least 46,876 Palestinians and injuries to over 110,642 others. Additionally, more than 10,000 individuals remain unaccounted for, believed to be buried under the rubble of their homes throughout the Strip.

Palestinian and international organizations report that the majority of those killed and injured are women and children. The Israeli offensive has also forcibly displaced nearly two million people from across the Gaza Strip, with most seeking refuge in the densely populated southern city of Rafah near the Egyptian border, marking the largest mass displacement in Palestine since the 1948 Nakba.
