Gaza: The Palestinian Government Communication Center has released its weekly report highlighting the escalating Israeli military aggression, widespread displacement of Palestinians, and deteriorating humanitarian conditions in Gaza and the West Bank.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the report comes as Israeli authorities released a seventh batch of Palestinian prisoners, freeing 641 individuals, including 151 serving life sentences. This brings the total number of freed prisoners since the ceasefire to 1,700. The ongoing Israeli operations have resulted in severe repercussions for the Palestinian populace, with Jenin experiencing a 42-day siege, during which 27 Palestinians were killed, and thousands displaced. Similarly, Tulkarm has been under attack for 36 days, resulting in 13 Palestinian deaths, including a child and two women.
In Gaza, the humanitarian crisis has reached critical levels, with seven newborns succumbing to freezing temperatures due to the blockade on aid entry. The healthcare system is on the verge of collapse, with hospitals struggling to function and a growing number of children dying from cold-related illnesses.
The Israeli government's recent move to annex West Bank settlements has further inflamed tensions. The proposed bill aims to expand Israeli sovereignty and sever Palestinian territorial continuity, drawing condemnation from the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which described the plan as a significant violation of international law.
The blockade on Gaza has exacerbated the humanitarian crisis, with the Government Operations Room for Emergency Interventions warning of catastrophic consequences if border crossings remain closed. There is an urgent call for international intervention to ensure the immediate entry of relief aid and to end the weaponization of starvation.
Since the onset of the aggression, the Israeli Occupation Forces have killed over 48,000 Palestinians and injured more than 111,761. The recent killing of 12-year-old Ayman al-Hammouni in Hebron, captured on security camera footage, underscores the increasing intensity of Israeli operations in the West Bank post-ceasefire.
The international community and human rights advocates are increasingly concerned as the IOF employs aggressive tactics reminiscent of those used in Gaza, raising fears of a continuing rise in casualties. There is mounting pressure on global entities to take decisive action against the Israeli policies contributing to the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Palestinian territories.
