Israeli Aggression Continues for the 126th Day in Jenin

Jenin: The Israeli occupation forces continue their aggression on the city of Jenin and its camp for the 126th consecutive day, expanding their bulldozing and destruction operations inside the camp, aiming to alter its features and structure.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, since the beginning of the occupation's aggression on Jenin and its camp nearly four months ago, approximately 22,000 residents have been displaced from the camp and its surroundings. This displacement poses significant humanitarian and economic challenges for the Jenin Municipality, as explained by Mayor Mohammed Jarrar. He highlighted that the percentage of displaced persons has reached 25% of the city's total population, creating challenges across all aspects, including economic, social, environmental, service, and health sectors.

Jarrar estimated the destruction resulting from the ongoing occupation's aggression on the city and its camp at approximately $300 million. He emphasized that the occupation is deliberately executing widespread destruction to transform the camp and its surroundings into an uninhabitable area. The occupation forces have completely destroyed the infrastructure in Jenin camp, with municipality crews estimating that 600 homes were completely destroyed, alongside the partial destruction of other housing units. Additionally, 4,000 workers have lost their jobs due to the aggression.

Municipal crews have begun repairs in several areas of Jenin city, including resurfacing and repairing entrances to facilitate residents' access. Major streets like Nazareth and Bayader have been resurfaced and repaired. The water network in the eastern neighborhood has been completely repaired, as has half of the sewage network in the same area, at a cost of 17 million shekels. The street behind Ibn Sina Hospital in the city center has also been rehabilitated.

The Palestinian Prisoners' Club reports that the occupation has arrested approximately 1,000 citizens from Jenin and Tulkarm over the past four months, including those who were later released. Recently, occupation forces arrested four young men from the town of Qabatiya after raiding and searching their homes, and their vehicles stormed the town of Burqin and raided the gas station there. In Jenin city, occupation soldiers, who are constantly present around Jenin Governmental Hospital, arrested a young man.

Villages in the Jenin Governorate are experiencing almost daily raids as the aggression against the city and camp continues. Daily military movements are recorded in most villages of the governorate, with a constant presence of occupation patrols and vehicles. The occupation continues to send military reinforcements to Jenin camp and its surroundings, and continues to fire live ammunition intensively inside it. The aggression has so far resulted in the killing of 40 citizens and more than 200 injuries.
