Israel Issues Decision to Uproot Trees Near Nablus

Nablus: Israeli occupation authorities issued a decision on Sunday to bulldoze and uproot trees on lands in the village of al-Sawiya, located south of Nablus. The decision has sparked immediate concern among local residents and authorities who are trying to respond swiftly to the orders.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the village council reported that the occupation authorities informed them about the plan to bulldoze trees covering an area of one dunum and 800 square meters of the village's lands. This decision was communicated directly to the village council, which plays a crucial role in managing local affairs and responding to such directives.

In response, the village council has urged landowners affected by the decision to file objections within a 24-hour window. They have also advised these landowners to reach out to the Anti-Wall and Settlement Commission through the village council to ensure a coordinated effort in contesting the orders. This move is part of a broader strategy to protect local lands and resources from being altered or appropriated without the consent of the local population.
