Israel Closes Al-Aqsa Mosque for Fifth Consecutive Day Amid Heightened Tensions

Jerusalem: Israeli occupation authorities continued to close the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound for the fifth consecutive day.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the Jerusalem Governorate reported that the occupation forces prevented worshippers from entering the mosque, citing a state of emergency. This measure was enforced amid a heavy deployment of forces around the compound and at the gates of the Old City, also restricting Palestinians from accessing the mosque's courtyards.

The closure began on Saturday morning when the occupation forces forced worshippers to leave the mosque, halting the performance of Isha and Taraweeh prayers. The continued closure of the Al-Aqsa Mosque coincided with the Israeli army's announcement of a West Bank closure. This development occurred just hours after a large-scale attack launched by Israel and the United States against Iran.
