Post: Israel Begins Constructing Colonial Road Near Jerusalem

Jerusalem: Israeli occupation forces began paving a colonial road on Sunday morning at the expense of Palestinian lands in the town of Hizma, northeast of occupied Jerusalem, amid heavy deployment and protection from Israeli occupation forces.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the Jerusalem Governorate stated that the ongoing work is in implementation of the Israeli occupation authorities' decision issued on June 25, 2025, to seize the street adjacent to Wadi Azriq in the town, starting from the main street leading to the town of Jaba' and extending to the Aqabat area, in addition to areas of neighboring lands, until December 31, 2027.

The agency confirmed that this action aims to change the features of the area and impose new Judaization facts. The Jerusalem Governorate highlighted the ruling Israeli right's efforts to accelerate land seizure, deepen colonialism, and engage in practices against Palestinian citizens in Jerusalem and all of Area C, in defiance of United Nations resolutions, particularly Resolution 2334. These actions are seen as attempts to alter the historical, political, legal, and demographic realities of the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, hindering the establishment of a Palestinian state and undermining the two-state solution.
