Jenin: Israeli occupation authorities ordered the seizure of dozens of dunams of land belonging to the village of Zabda, near the town of Ya'bad southwest of Jenin.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency, Israeli authorities issued a military order to seize an estimated 61,652 dunams of the village's land, citing military use as the reason for the seizure.
The order, which took effect from the date it was signed on May 12, 2026, is set to remain in force until the end of 2028. Saleh Amarna, the head of the Zabda village council, stated that the council plans to challenge the seizure through legal channels and will use all efforts to overturn the order. Amarna also mentioned that a meeting with the affected residents would be convened to discuss future actions.
This decision is seen as part of a broader policy by Israeli authorities to seize Palestinian land for military bases and settlements in the West Bank.
