Gaza: The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has reported that Gaza's civilian population has faced two years of severe hardships, including death, displacement, and a loss of dignity. According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Sarah Avrillaud, head of the ICRC sub-delegation in the Gaza Strip, expressed grave concerns over the situation. She stated that the extent of human suffering in Gaza is unprecedented, with thousands of Palestinians separated from their families and many still missing. The impact of the last two years is evident on the faces of those enduring day-to-day struggles. Avrillaud's statement highlighted the inadequacies of essential services in meeting the needs of the population. Many residents lack regular access to water, hygiene facilities, and medical services. The ongoing struggle has taken a heavy toll on the people, as evidenced by the plight of terrified mothers and patients unable to recover due to constant displacement. The ICRC, alongside partners like the Palestine Red Crescent Society, continues its efforts to alleviate the situation. However, Avrillaud stressed that humanitarian organizations alone cannot address the increasing needs. She urged for a ceasefire and emphasized the necessity for unrestricted humanitarian aid access throughout the Gaza Strip. Avrillaud concluded by calling for urgent political action, emphasizing that while lives can be saved, civilians cannot afford further delays. "All feasible precautions must be taken to spare the civilian population," she stressed, urging for immediate solutions to the ongoing crisis.
