Tel Aviv: The international human rights organization, Human Rights Watch, warned against Israel replicating the violations of the Gaza Strip in the occupied West Bank.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the human rights organization stated that "Israeli tanks entered the occupied West Bank for the first time in two decades." The statement highlighted concerns about the ongoing Israeli military operation, which is focused on the northern West Bank and described as the longest since the Second Intifada.
The United Nations has reported that refugee camps in Jenin, Nur Shams, and Tulkarm have become "almost uninhabitable." Human Rights Watch pointed out that "the Israeli army has demolished large numbers of homes and vital infrastructure, including kilometers of sewage networks and water pipes in Jenin."
The organization expressed concerns that "Israel is replicating the violations of Gaza in the occupied West Bank," citing previous instances of similar methods seen in the Gaza Strip. Human Rights Watch urged international action to prevent further atrocities across the occupied Palestinian territory. This includes imposing targeted sanctions on individuals implicated in ongoing serious violations, suspending arms transfers to Israel, and banning trade with illegal Israeli settlements.
