The report sheds light on the continuous and systematic violations of Palestinian rights by the Israeli occupation, emphasizing the severe impact on the Palestinian people, especially in Gaza, where the humanitarian situation has reached unprecedented levels of hardship.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, a Lancet study reveals that the number of Palestinians killed during the first nine months of the Israeli war on Gaza is 40% higher than official records. Analysis estimates the death toll by the end of June was 64,260, with 59% of those being women, children, and people over 65. The report also highlights the dire state of humanitarian efforts in Gaza, as international organizations warn that life-saving measures are at a breaking point. Rising famine, freezing conditions, and lack of shelter continue to claim more innocent lives, including at least 74 children in the first week of 2025.
In a related development, Israel has rejected a UN investigation into allegations of sexual violence, preventing access to Israeli detention centers to investigate reports of sexual assaults and torture by Israeli soldiers against Palestinian detainees. The Ministry of Women's Affairs has condemned Israel's refusal to allow the UN Special Representative on Sexual Violence in Conflict access to these centers, urging international pressure to grant investigative powers to the UN delegation for probing sexual crimes against Palestinian prisoners.
Additionally, the report outlines Israel's confiscation of 262 dunams of Palestinian land in northeast Jerusalem for settler road expansions, further threatening Palestinian land ownership and livelihoods.
