Gaza Strip Faces Worst Humanitarian Situation Amid Aid Blockade, Reports OCHA

Geneva: The Gaza Strip is experiencing the "worst humanitarian situation" since the onset of the aggression, as reported by Jens Laerke, spokesperson for the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA). This dire situation is attributed to Israel's prolonged blockade of humanitarian aid to the region.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Laerke addressed the severity of the crisis during a press conference held at the UN Office in Geneva. He highlighted that humanitarian aid has been blocked from reaching Gaza for over 50 days, with commercial goods being absent for an even longer period.

Laerke emphasized the escalating crisis, stating, "In Gaza, you can see a clear trend towards a complete catastrophe. Right now, the humanitarian situation in Gaza is probably the worst since the beginning of the war." The prolonged absence of aid and essential goods has compounded the challenges faced by the residents of Gaza, pushing the region to the brink of disaster.
