Gaza Death Toll Reaches 54,321 Amid Ongoing Conflict

Gaza City: The death toll arising from the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip surged to 54,321 people, medical sources said on Friday.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency, the death toll and the number of casualties as a result of the Israeli offensive on the war-torn Strip, which started on October 7, 2023, have risen to 54,321 and 123,770, respectively.

The agency reported that since Israel unilaterally ended the Gaza ceasefire agreement and resumed its aggression on the Strip on Tuesday, March 18, 4,058 people have been killed, and 11,729 others have been injured.

In the last 24 hours, the bodies of 72 slain Palestinians and 278 casualties were admitted to hospitals in the Strip. These numbers exclude the fatalities and casualties in the northern Strip due to inaccessibility.

Furthermore, at least 10,000 people are unaccounted for, presumed dead under the rubble of their homes throughout the Strip.

The Israeli aggression has led to the forceful displacement of nearly two million people from all over the Gaza Strip. The vast majority of the displaced have been forced into the densely crowded southern city of Rafah near the border with Egypt, marking Palestine's largest mass exodus since the 1948 Nakba.
