France Officially Recognizes State of Palestine in Historic Move

New york: French President Emmanuel Macron announced on Monday evening that France has officially recognized the State of Palestine, marking a historic step in international diplomacy.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the announcement came during Macron's address at the High-Level International Conference for the Peaceful Settlement of the Question of Palestine and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution, held in New York.

'Since last July, events have escalated at a frightening pace,' Macron said. 'It is our responsibility to preserve the two-state solution-Israel and Palestine living side by side in peace and security. Therefore, in line with my country's commitments, I declare today that France recognizes the State of Palestine.'

Macron stressed the moral imperative of the move, adding: 'Our duty is to protect everyone without exception. This is an indivisible duty. There is a way to break the cycle of war and destruction, and that way is to recognize the other-in their legitimacy, humanity, and dignity.'

The French president's declaration was met with prolonged applause from participants at the conference, underscoring the significance of the decision.
