Post: France Bans Israeli Minister Ben-Gvir Amid Gaza Flotilla Controversy

Paris: France announced on Saturday that it has banned Israeli far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir from entering French territory, amid mounting international outrage over the treatment of activists from the Global Sumud Flotilla that was attempting to reach Gaza.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, French Foreign Minister Jean-No«l Barrot took to X to declare the prohibition, stating: 'As of today, Itamar Ben-Gvir is banned from entering French territory.' Barrot also noted his intention to urge the European Union to impose sanctions on Ben-Gvir.

The decision follows the release of videos by Ben-Gvir, which depicted detained activists from the Global Sumud Flotilla in handcuffs and chains, undergoing degrading treatment. The footage has sparked widespread condemnation from governments, human rights organizations, lawmakers, and activists globally, who have expressed their concern over Israel's handling of the detained activists and the breach of their rights and dignity.
