Jerusalem: Israeli occupation forces demolished four Palestinian homes in the Silwan neighborhood, south of the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound. The demolition took place on Monday as Israeli troops, accompanied by heavy machinery and armored vehicles, entered the Al-Bustan neighborhood and razed the homes belonging to the Awad, Abu Shafeh, and Ruwaidi families without prior warning.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, these demolitions are part of a broader Israeli policy aimed at imposing restrictions on Palestinian construction in occupied Jerusalem and surrounding areas. This policy has been intensifying the housing crisis, further limiting residents' ability to maintain and expand their homes.
The Jerusalem Governorate reported a significant increase in such activities, with Israeli authorities conducting 49 demolition and land-clearing operations in the governorate during the month of February alone.
