Four Civilians Killed in Israeli Airstrike on Southern Gaza Strip

Gaza City: An Israeli airstrike on Tuesday evening targeted Bani Suheila town, east of Khan Younes in the southern Gaza Strip, resulting in the deaths of four civilians. The strike was conducted by an Israeli combat drone, targeting a group of individuals in the town, according to WAFA correspondent.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Israel unilaterally ended the Gaza ceasefire agreement and resumed its aggression on the Strip on Tuesday, March 18. This resumption has led to a wave of airstrikes across the region, claiming the lives of hundreds of Palestinians, including over 100 children. The current death toll stands at 1,890, with 4,950 others wounded, as reported by medical sources. Emergency teams are actively working to recover victims trapped beneath the rubble.

Medical sources further reported that within the last 24 hours, the bodies of 26 slain Palestinians and 60 casualties were admitted to hospitals across the Gaza Strip. The resumed aggression has raised significant concerns regarding the worsening humanitarian situation, exacerbated by the ongoing siege and restrictions on medical and humanitarian aid into the region.

Since October 2023, Israel has waged a military campaign in the Gaza Strip, resulting in the deaths of 51,266 Palestinians, predominantly women and children, and injuring 116,991 others. Additionally, more than 10,000 individuals remain unaccounted for, presumed dead beneath the rubble of their homes.

The conflict has also led to the displacement of nearly two million people from the Gaza Strip, with the majority forced into the overcrowded city of Rafah near the Egyptian border. This movement marks the largest mass exodus of Palestinians since the 1948 Nakba.
