New delhi: Palestinian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Varsen Aghabekian met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the third day of her official visit to India. The visit includes participation in the second session of the Arab-Indian ministerial meeting held in New Delhi on January 30 and 31.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, during the meeting, Aghabekian emphasized Palestine's intention to strengthen bilateral relations with India. She updated Prime Minister Modi on political and humanitarian developments in the occupied Palestinian territories, particularly focusing on the challenging conditions in the Gaza Strip amid ongoing aggression.
Aghabekian expressed gratitude for India's consistent support of the Palestinian cause, specifically highlighting India's role at the United Nations and the Human Rights Council. She acknowledged India's ongoing humanitarian, economic, and development assistance to the Palestinian people.
Prime Minister Modi reiterated India's unwavering support for the Palestinian cause and the rights of the Palestinian people. He emphasized India's commitment to international law and relevant resolutions, affirming India's intention to continue supporting humanitarian and development efforts in Palestine.
At the end of the meeting, Aghabekian expressed hope that Prime Minister Modi would visit the State of Palestine soon, underscoring the strong bilateral relations between the two nations.
