Fatah Eighth General Conference Announces 94.64% Turnout in Central Committee and Revolutionary Council Elections

Ramallah: Fatah's Eighth General Conference announced on Saturday evening that voter turnout in the elections for the movement's Central Committee and Revolutionary Council across the four arenas of Ramallah, Gaza, Lebanon, and Cairo reached 94.64%.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, figures published on the conference's official Facebook page indicated that voter turnout was 94.41% in Ramallah, with 1,637 ballots cast out of 1,734 eligible voters. In Gaza, turnout was 98.96%, with 382 ballots cast out of 386 eligible voters. Lebanon saw a turnout of 98.78%, with 162 ballots cast out of 164 eligible voters, while Cairo had an 89.04% turnout, with 325 ballots cast out of 365 eligible voters. In total, 2,507 voters participated out of 2,649 eligible voters.

The conference began on Thursday, with participation from President Mahmoud Abbas, ambassadors, members of the diplomatic corps accredited to the State of Palestine, religious figures, and representatives from factions, national forces, and civil society institutions.

The proceedings of Fatah's Eighth General Conference were conducted in a smooth and orderly manner, demonstrating the movement's and its cadres' commitment to ensuring the conference's success and enhancing democratic participation within its leadership bodies.
