Fatah Central Committee Advances Preparations for Eighth Conference

Ramallah: The Central Committee of Fatah convened at the Mobilization and Organization headquarters to continue discussions on preparations for the movement's eighth conference, scheduled for May 14, 2026.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the Committee reviewed the progress achieved so far by the Preparatory Committee, with a particular focus on the Membership Committee, representation of women and youth, government institutions, and the Palestine Liberation Organization. The discussions also encompassed procedures concerning the representation of detainees, regions, competencies, and security bodies.

The Fatah Central Committee approved the establishment of several specialized committees tasked with setting standards and determining the names and representation of the movement's commissions. These will then be submitted to the Central Committee for approval.

The Committee also decided to invite the Preparatory Committee for the eighth conference to meet next Thursday, April 2, 2026, to discuss the resolutions adopted by the Central Committee during its session.
