Family of Slain Youth to Sue Colonist Involved in Running Son Over

Jerusalem: The family of the slain Jerusalemite youth, Fouad Muhammad Alian, has announced plans to file a lawsuit against the colonist responsible for running him over, resulting in his death.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the family expressed their rejection of the Israeli police's assertion that the incident was criminally motivated. They firmly believe that the crime was racially driven, as Alian was Palestinian. The tragic event took place last Thursday when Alian, 30, from the village of Beit Safafa, was killed in the Katamon area, west of occupied Jerusalem. He and his cousin were allegedly attacked by colonists while in a public park.

The family reported that the colonists demanded they leave due to their Arab identity and subsequently pursued them in vehicles. While Alian and his cousin were on a motorcycle, they were run over by a colonist. After falling, another colonist allegedly ran them over again, resulting in Alian's death and leaving his cousin seriously injured.

The incident has drawn attention to the occupation police's handling of the case, as they released one of the men involved, claiming the act was carried out for non-nationalist reasons.
