Extremist Israeli Organization Calls for Demolishing School Near Hebron

Hebron: An extremist Israeli colonial organization called on Sunday for the halt on construction as well as the demolition of a school in the Bedouin Badia, south of Hebron.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, activist Osama Makhamreh reported that members of the extremist colonial organization Regavim posted provocative leaflets on the walls of the Bat Zuwaydin Secondary School in the Bedouin Badia, south of Hebron. The leaflets urged the Israeli government to stop work and demolish the school, arguing that its presence would encourage Palestinians to build and remain in the area.

The school, which is part of the organizational master plan for the Bedouin community in Zuwaydin, has been under construction for more than four years. The extremist organization Regavim, established in 2006, was co-founded by Israeli Finance Minister Smotrich and aims to create "legal channels" for enforcing demolition orders against Palestinian homes and facilities.

Regavim's efforts are focused primarily in the occupied Naqab area but extend to all Palestinian territories, particularly Area C, which makes up 60% of the occupied West Bank. The organization has access to geographic and demographic information with a permit from the Civil Administration, utilizing geographic information systems and detailed aerial photography to document the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories.
