Jerusalem: Extremist colonialist groups have announced their intention to organize a provocative Judaization march in Jerusalem on August 9. This event is part of a broader plan to support the construction of the alleged "Third Temple," which poses a direct threat to Al-Aqsa Mosque.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the event is being organized by the "Israel Forever" organization and the "Jeanne Koffler Foundation: Jerusalem III," with the protection of the Israeli occupation police. The march will begin at "Independence Park," followed by a flag march through several historic gates of Jerusalem, including Damascus Gate, Bab al-Sahira, and Bab al-Asbat, before concluding at Al-Buraq Square. This is seen as part of ongoing attempts to impose the "Israeli" narrative on the city and consolidate control over it.
A number of Israeli government ministers and far-right figures are scheduled to participate in the march. Notable attendees include the Israeli Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben-Gvir, the Israeli Minister of Heritage, Amichai Eliyahu, and Limor Son Har-Melech, chair of the Knesset's "Temple Affairs" Committee.
According to a report by the Jerusalem Governorate, the first half of 2025 in occupied Jerusalem saw an escalation in the occupation's attacks on the city, marking a systematic attempt to consolidate colonial control and Judaize it. Human rights organizations documented 143 attacks carried out by settlers against Palestinians in Jerusalem, including 26 physical assaults, all under the protection of the occupation army. These attacks included the desecration of holy sites and incitement against Palestinian citizens in their neighborhoods.
