Brussels: The European Union (EU) Tuesday called on Israel to stop bombing of the Gaza Strip and allow the unhindered access of humanitarian supplies to the Strip.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the EU's High Representative for Foreign Affairs Kaja Kallas, the EU's Commissioner for the Mediterranean Dubravka €š¬…¡¬‚¬¦¡¬‚¬Å¡¬¦¡¬¦ uica, and EU's Commissioner for Equality Hadja Lahbib expressed in a joint statement their sorrow over the breakdown of the ceasefire and the killing of civilians, including children, in Israeli airstrikes.
They urged Israel to adhere to its obligations under international humanitarian law, end its military aggression, exercise restraint, and resume unimpeded entry of humanitarian aid and electricity to Gaza.
They reiterated the EU's belief that the resumption of negotiations is the only way forward, affirming that stability is a prerequisite for swift reconstruction.
