Egyptian President and EU Foreign Policy Chief Urge Full Implementation of Gaza Ceasefire and Aid Flow

Cairo: Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and the European Union's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, emphasized the necessity of fully implementing the Gaza ceasefire agreement, ensuring a consistent and unhindered flow of humanitarian aid into the enclave. According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Egyptian presidential spokesperson Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy released a statement detailing the discussions held on Saturday between President el-Sisi, the EU representative, and her delegation. The talks focused on regional developments, particularly the situation in the Gaza Strip, and explored ways to strengthen cooperation in combating terrorism, organized crime, and addressing irregular migration. The statement highlighted both parties' rejection of any attempts to displace the Palestinian people from their land and stressed the urgency of implementing the second phase of the Gaza ceasefire agreement and initiating post-war reconstruction in the Strip. Furthermore, both sides reiterated the importance of continuing efforts to resume the political process, aiming for a comprehensive, just, and lasting peace in line with the two-state solution.
