Death Toll from Israeli Airstrikes on Schools in Gaza Rises to 49


Gaza City: The death toll from Israeli warplanes targeting two schools in Al-Bureij refugee camp and Gaza City has risen to 49, with the majority being children, women, and the elderly. The attacks, which occurred from last night until dawn on Wednesday, have drawn significant attention and concern.



According to Palestine News and Information Agency – WAFA, citing medical sources, the number of casualties from the bombing of Abu Hamisa School, which served as a shelter for displaced persons in Al-Bureij refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip, has increased to 33 Palestinian civilians. Nearly 73 others have been reported wounded. The school was targeted twice during the assault.



The death toll from the bombing of Al-Karama School, located east of Gaza City, also rose to 16 civilians, with dozens more wounded. These incidents are part of a broader conflict that has been ongoing since October 7, 2023. The Israeli occupation forces have been conducting aggressive operations in the Gaza Strip, leading to the deaths of 52,615 citizens, predominantly children and women, and injuring 118,752 others.
