Ramallah:The Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission (CWRC) documented 13 Israeli attacks against olive harvesters across the occupied West Bank within a 12-hour period from 600 a.m. to 600 p.m. on Tuesday.
According to Palestine news & Information Agency – WAFA – English, the attacks included physical assaults on farmers and foreign solidarity activists, theft of olive harvests and equipment, vehicle vandalism, and denial of access to olive groves. A new colonial outpost was also established in an olive grove belonging to a farmer.
In the Ramallah and al-Bireh governorate, occupation forces and colonists detained dozens of farmers and activists in Turmus Ayya, preventing access to orchards located near homes. Vehicles in the area were also vandalized. In Sinjil town, a colonist released livestock onto agricultural land while access to the lands was denied to farmers.
In al-Mughayyir village, colonists entered a farmer's land, conducting provocative tours near another's home, while bulldozers leveled land in the Sahl al-Rafid area. In Deir Jarir village's al-Hara'iq area, colonists attacked olive pickers, causing injuries from pepper spray and suffocation. Soldiers detained a young man after an assault.
In Beit Ur al-Tahta, colonists, under military protection, beat farmers and activists, leading to excessive tear gas inhalation. Soldiers fired tear gas and live ammunition, causing some activists to leave the area. In Nablus governorate, attacks included vehicle smashing and forcing farmers to leave lands in Asira al-Qibliya village.
In Madama village, a colonist expelled families from olive orchards at gunpoint. Colonists attacked farmers in Tell town, stealing harvests, and in Beita town, they also stole crops and nets. In Burqa village, a farmer was severely beaten and hospitalized.
In Salfit governorate, a new outpost in Wadi al-Ahmar threatened farmers' land access. In Jenin governorate, occupation forces prevented land access in Barta'a, isolated by the apartheid wall.
The CWRC highlighted that these attacks aim to impose a colonial fait accompli, using violence to expand land control and alter its use, undermining the Palestinian agricultural sector. It called for international intervention to halt the attacks and protect farmers' rights.
