Jericho: Colonists on Wednesday evening stormed the Halq er-Rummana Bedouin community, northwest of the city of Jericho, according to a local official.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Hassan Malihat, the general supervisor of Al-Baydar Organization for the Defense of Bedouin Rights, reported that a number of colonists broke into the community. They raided homes belonging to the Al-Mahalees family during Iftar, the evening meal when Muslims break their daily fast during the holy month of Ramadan.
Malihat also noted that community residents had proactively relocated their livestock from the area two months earlier. This move was made as a precautionary measure to protect their animals against potential theft by colonists.
