Post: Colonists Lead Livestock to Graze in Palestinians’ Fields Near Ramallah

Ramallah: Israeli colonists on Wednesday led their livestock to graze in Palestinians' fields in Taybeh town, east of the occupied West Bank city of Ramallah, according to eyewitnesses. They reported that the colonists led a herd of sheep and camels to graze in Palestinian farmers' olive groves at the al-Khalyfeh area, causing damage to the trees. The colonists reportedly broke off olive tree branches to feed their sheep, which raised concerns among the town's inhabitants about the potential for more widespread attacks.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency, armed colonists also attacked a Palestinian civilian at the eastern entrance of Jiljilyya village, north of Ramallah. Local sources confirmed that armed settlers assaulted the civilian while he was at his workshop near the entrance and stole his mobile phone before leaving the scene.

Colonists' violence against Palestinians and their property is a routine occurrence in the West Bank and is rarely prosecuted by Israeli authorities. This violence includes property and mosque arsons, stone-throwing, uprooting of crops and olive trees, and attacks on vulnerable homes. Approximately 1 million Israeli colonists are living in colonies in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, which is considered a violation of international law.
