AL-MALEH: Israeli colonists chased and harassed Palestinian livestock herders on Sunday while they were grazing their livestock in the northern Jordan Valley region, northeast of the occupied West Bank, according to local sources.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Mehdi Daraghmeh, head of the al-Maleh Village Council, reported that the colonists forced the herders out of grazing areas in the al-Burj area in the Jordan Valley. This incident is part of a growing trend of aggressive displacement in the region.
Daraghmeh highlighted that colonists regularly pursue and expel herders from the already limited pastures available to them. Tens of thousands of dunums of grazing land in the northern Jordan Valley are now effectively under the control of colonists, severely restricting access for Palestinian communities that depend on livestock for their livelihoods.
