Colonists Expand Colonial Units Near Jericho

Jericho: Colonists began pouring ready-mix concrete on Wednesday afternoon in the village of Shalla al-Auja, north of Jericho, in preparation for the construction of new colonial units in the outpost established in the area several months ago.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Hassan Malihat, General Supervisor of the Al-Baidar Organization for the Defense of Bedouin Rights and Bedouin Villages, explained that this step comes in light of escalating colonists' violations against Palestinian Bedouin communities. The ongoing expansion work is reportedly carried out with the clear complicity of the occupation authorities, in an attempt to impose a fait accompli on the ground and expand settlement influence on the land.

Malihat warned of the serious repercussions of these practices, which contribute to the displacement of the indigenous population and the control of water resources and agricultural lands.
