Beit sahour: Israeli colonists, under the protection of Israeli occupation forces, on Sunday continued installing additional mobile homes in the Ush Ghurab area in the city of Beit Sahour, east of Bethlehem, as part of efforts to expand a colonial outpost illegally established on Palestinian citizens' land.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, anti-wall and colonization activist in Bethlehem, Abdullah Hamdan, reported that large trucks were seen transporting mobile homes to the area. These homes were installed to reinforce the colonial outpost that colonists had recently set up. Hamdan highlighted that five mobile homes were installed in the Ush Ghurab area several days ago, marking an escalatory move aimed at imposing a new colonial fait accompli.
The area known as 'Ush Ghurab,' which includes a small military base of the occupation army, was designated about 15 years ago for the construction of a children's hospital for Bethlehem residents. However, the hospital was never built after colonists began establishing a colonial outpost there, which they named 'Shdema.'
