Colonists Establish New Outpost on Deir Istiya Land, Northwest Salfit

Salfit: Israeli colonists established a new outpost on Saturday on land belonging to the town of Deir Istiya in the central West Bank province of Salfit, according to local sources. The sources reported that colonists placed two mobile caravans on Islamic Waqf property west of the town, while also bulldozing parts of the surrounding land.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the colonists extended a water pipeline from the nearby settlement of Revava toward the new outpost. This pipeline passes through olive-planted Palestinian farmland, raising concerns among local residents about the impact on their agricultural activities.

Residents expressed that the establishment of the outpost represents a significant escalation in colonist activity in the area. The region has experienced increasing establishment of pastoral outposts and expansion onto private Palestinian agricultural lands, particularly olive groves. These activities have been accompanied by restrictions preventing farmers from accessing their land, further exacerbating tensions in the community.
