Colonists Destroy Gravestones East of Bethlehem

Bethlehem: Colonists destroyed gravestones in the villages of Kisan and Rashaydeh, east of Bethlehem, on Tuesday. Local sources told our correspondent that settlers destroyed gravestones belonging to the villages of Kisan and Rashaydeh, some dating back to the British Mandate, which included the graves of slain people killed by Israeli forces.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency, the cemetery is located 3 km east of the village and contains more than 2,000 graves, three water wells, and a prayer area. Colonists have repeatedly tried to prevent Palestinians from burying their dead there, as happened today when they attempted to prevent residents of Rashaydeh from burying a child. However, the residents resisted and were able to proceed with the burial.
