Colonists Destroy Car Repair Shop, Seize Equipment Northwest of Ramallah

Gaza City: Israeli colonists vandalized a privately-owned car repair shop at dawn on Tuesday and seized its contents near the village of Umm Safa, northwest of Ramallah. The head of the Umm Safa Village Council, Marwan Sabah, reported that the colonists raided the garage in the western part of the village after smashing one of its windows.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency – WAFA, the colonists destroyed the shop’s contents and took all of its equipment. Sabah also noted that this was not the first incident, as the garage had been previously infiltrated on the 11th of last month, when the colonists set it on fire, resulting in the complete destruction of three vehicles.

Additionally, it has been reported that colonists have recently seized hundreds of dunams in the southern part of Umm Safa with the intention of transforming the area into a pastoral colonial outpost. This action has raised concerns about a potential plan to displace villagers and establish a large colonial settlement bloc on the lands and homes of citizens, aiming to connect it with the neighboring colonies of Hamlish and Ateret.

The Umm Safa area is estimated at 4,000 dunams, but due to the occupation’s land grabbing and seizure of vast areas, only 300 dunams remain, which is where the residents’ homes are located.
