Colonists and Israeli Forces Attack Ramallah-Area Village

Ramallah: Israeli colonists, under the protection of Israeli forces, attacked the village of Rammun east of Ramallah on Saturday evening, according to a local official. The head of the village council, Ibrahim al-Khatib, reported that a group of colonists, backed by Israeli soldiers, attacked the northwestern part of the village, opening fire on citizens and their homes. Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the incident.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, colonists set fire to agricultural lands surrounding the homes of residents. The occupation forces raided the area to protect the colonists, firing stun grenades, which intensified the fires and caused material damage to the lands. Earlier, colonists had attacked a Bedouin community in the Ain Ayoub area, west of Ramallah, as well as families in the Arab al-Kaabnah Bedouin community, northeast of the city.

Al-Baydar Organization for the Defense of Bedouin Rights stated that colonists attacked a Bedouin community and burned their tents in the Ain Ayoub area, resulting in property damage. In another statement, the organization reported that colonists attacked families in the Arab al-Kaabnah Bedouin community northeast of Ramallah, ordering residents to vacate their homes and lands within two weeks.

According to a report by the Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission, colonists carried out 466 attacks against Palestinian citizens and their property in the West Bank in July last year. These attacks resulted in the killing of four Palestinians and the forced displacement of two Bedouin communities comprising 50 families.
