Chinese Foreign Ministry Welcomes Al-Sheikh’s New Roles in Palestinian Leadership

Beijing: The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs has welcomed the appointment of Hussein Al-Sheikh as Deputy Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) and as Deputy President of the State of Palestine. The announcement marks a significant development in Palestinian leadership, which has been acknowledged by China as an essential step in Palestinian governance.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Guo Jiakun, emphasized that China firmly supports the just cause of the Palestinian people in regaining their legitimate national rights. The statement from the Chinese Foreign Ministry underscores China's longstanding support for Palestinian sovereignty and self-determination.

Guo reiterated China's commitment to backing the Palestinian Authority in its efforts to strengthen governance. This includes enhancing its authority and ensuring effective control over all Palestinian territories, including Gaza and the West Bank. The support highlights China's broader foreign policy stance in favor of Palestinian territorial integrity and governance stability.
