Post: Central Elections Commission Finalizes 2026 Local Election Results

Ramallah: The Central Elections Commission (CEC) announced the approval of the final results of the local elections conducted on April 25, 2026. These results were made public on the CEC's website following the conclusion of the appeals process before the Election Cases Court.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, during the appeals period, 60 appeals were submitted to the specialized Court challenging the preliminary results announced by the CEC on April 26. These included appeals against the acclamation results. The Court rejected 56 appeals and accepted four, rendering the results final and no longer subject to appeal.

Consequently, the CEC officially handed over the final results to the Ministry of Local Government (MoLG), including certificates of winning for all electoral lists and candidates from the 183 local authorities where polling took place. Additionally, the CEC had previously provided the MoLG with certificates of winning for the 197 local authorities whose councils were formed by acclamation.
