The Civil Defence Interest (CDI) made an urgent appeal to officials of dams and water barriers in various provinces.
The call for the rapid opening of drainage channels and the reduction of water in dams and water barriers by at least 25 per cent of the total capacity of the dam or water barrier, and to keep pace with the rainfall by maintaining the required reduction rate, in order to avoid its flooding or collapse.
In a statement to Saba, the Civil Defence Interest warned citizens against being present or crossing from torrential corridors and waterfalls during the rainfall.
