Post: Autopsy Scheduled for Palestinian Detainee Ahmad Tazaz’a Who Died in Israeli Custody

Tel aviv: Israeli authorities are set to conduct an autopsy on the body of Ahmad Tazaz'a, a 20-year-old Palestinian prisoner from Jenin, who died in Israeli custody earlier this month. The procedure is scheduled for Thursday at 12:00 p.m. at the Abu Kabir Forensic Institute, in the presence of a medical representative appointed by the family.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Jamil Saadeh, Director of the Legal Unit at the Commission for Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs, stated that Tazaz'a died on August 3, 2025. Tazaz'a's family confirmed that he did not suffer from prior health problems before his arrest.

Tazaz'a is among 76 Palestinian detainees who have died in Israeli imprisonment since the beginning of the ongoing conflict. Saadeh noted that Israel continues to withhold the bodies of 73 prisoners who have died since the conflict began. Additionally, Israeli authorities are holding the remains of 84 prisoners from the Palestinian detainee movement.
