At Least 40 Palestinians Killed in Gaza Amid Ongoing Israeli Airstrikes

Gaza city: At least 40 Palestinian civilians have been killed in renewed Israeli airstrikes and machine gunfire targeting various regions across the Gaza Strip since the early hours of the morning. The violence has intensified the humanitarian crisis in the area, adding to the already staggering toll of lives lost since the conflict's escalation earlier this month.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the latest fatalities include 25 individuals in northern Gaza, one in central Gaza, and 14 in the southern part of the Strip. These deaths contribute to the broader tally of 64,522 Palestinians killed since the onset of Israeli military actions on October 7, 2023, with a significant majority of the victims being women and children. Additionally, the number of injured has reached 163,096, compounding the strain on medical facilities in the region.

Medical sources report that numerous victims remain trapped beneath the rubble of collapsed buildings. The continued airstrikes and substantial damage to infrastructure are severely impeding the efforts of emergency services and civil defense teams to conduct rescue operations. As the conflict persists, the humanitarian situation in Gaza remains dire, with critical challenges facing those providing aid and relief to affected populations.
