Post: Armed Israeli Colonists Uproot Olive Saplings in Masafer Yatta

Masafer yatta: Armed Israeli colonists, heavily guarded by Israeli soldiers, uprooted and destroyed approximately 150 olive saplings on Monday in the Masafer Yatta area, south of Hebron, according to local sources.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Osama Makhamreh, a local anti-settlement activist, reported that the colonists, heavily armed and escorted by Israeli forces, destroyed the saplings belonging to Mohammad Makhamreh in the Igzaywa area near Susiya village. In addition to uprooting the olive saplings, the colonists also smashed the fence surrounding the farmland.

In a separate incident, colonists carried out excavation work on Palestinian-owned land in Khirbet Ikhlaal al-Adra, located on the eastern side of Wadi al-Jawaya in Masafer Yatta. This activity is reportedly part of an effort to expand the nearby colony.

Further actions by the colonists included cutting through the fence of land owned by Saeed Al-Amour in Khirbet Al-Rakeez in Masafer Yatta, which allowed their livestock to graze on crops and trees. The Israeli authorities declared the area a closed military zone and barred Palestinian residents from accessing their land for 24 hours.
